How can Acupuncture for Tinnitus Help?
Patients from various countries are now choosing acupuncture for tinnitus as their treatment. Tinnitus is a known ear condition characterized by hearing sounds although there are no external causes for it.
Tinnitus is not a disease per se, it is actually an indication of other medical conditions such as excess buildup of wax, obstruction of a foreign object within the ear, an ear infection or other medical causes. Tinnitus may also be due to natural hearing impairment as well. Your tinnitus problem may also be due to the side effects from certain medications that you are taking or due to a hereditary hearing loss problem.
It is a given fact that acupuncture for tinnitus can be an effective treatment. But you must understand that for you to be able to eliminate your tinnitus problem completely, it is important to deal with the main cause of it. It is important for you to first learn how to deal with the root cause of your tinnitus problem, in order to acquire permanent relief. So if you are suffering from tinnitus, medical tests might be required in order to determine the cause before deciding on a treatment such as acupuncture for tinnitus. There are doctors who engage to insert fusiform needles in the body’s pressure points, particularly in the affected areas and control these needles in order to manage the symptoms of tinnitus and eliminate all the pain and discomfort it is causing.
If you are in doubt about the use of acupuncture for tinnitus, it is best to visit your physician first or a clinic that offers acupuncture treatments. This is important if you have already tried going through homeopathic treatments or other alternative methods which failed to manage the symptoms of tinnitus. You should also remember that acupuncture for tinnitus is a one-time procedure and may require you several sessions in order to acquire complete relief. Even patients with severe tinnitus problem can benefit from this kind of treatment.
During the course of acupuncture for tinnitus, you have to make sure that you are bearing an open mind. It is wise not to expect that your tinnitus problem will be cured right away as acupuncture for tinnitus requires several sessions to completely eliminate your tinnitus problem. For better results, it is also best if you can do the acupuncture method along with a massage treatment. Also, you have to prepare yourself for the methods that will be done to you such as the insertion of needles.
Last but not the least, it is also important for you not to expect that acupuncture for tinnitus will provide you the permanent relief you are looking for. This is due to the fact that there are different factors which affect the relief, depending on your body condition and the severity of your tinnitus problem. Make sure to consider these factors before deciding to go on an acupuncture session for your tinnitus problem. Make sure to prepare, not just your body, but your mind as well for whatever the outcome of the procedure will be.

Common Ringing Ears Cause
Being able to understand the mechanism of hearing is important before knowing the ringing ears causes. Cochlea is located in the inner ear and works by helping the auditory mechanism of the ear. The sides of the cochlea are lined with thousands of tiny auditory hairs and these hairs help maintain the electrical charge of a person’s auditory cells. These cells are often stimulated by the sound waves that send signals into the brain. For those who are suffering from hearing impairment, it may be because these hairs are bent or damaged. This situation may lead to partial or total hearing loss and this is considered as one of the main ringing ears cause, particularly to those who are already aging. These auditory hairs may also be damaged due to trauma or sound pollution.
Ringing ears or tinnitus is the condition where a person experiences hearing a sound in one or both ears without external factors or sources. There are possibilities where the ringing sounds may occur in either the inner, outer or middle ear. People suffering from tinnitus hear sounds because the cochlea is incapable of sending normal sound signals into the brain and this may cause the brain to be confused. Due to this, the brain reciprocates the sound by developing one of its own when it is unable to process any natural sound waves. Here are some of the most common ringing ears causes that you should know about:
1.Ear infection can be a ringing ears cause. When there is an infection in the ear, the middle ear, the bones and the eardrum are inflamed. Usually, these infections are due to cold or if in case a virus or bacteria reached the middle ear and the Eustachian tube.
2.Sound pollution can also be a ringing ears cause and this is most common in youngsters. This is due to too much exposure to very loud noises or music. Make sure to remove excessive earwax from your ears to prevent it from blocking the sound that should reach the brain.
3.Ringing ears may also be due to high stress levels. Several studies have shown that tinnitus could worsen if an individual is suffering from constant stress and this is the major cause of ringing ears in a healthy person.
4.Individuals suffering from allergies and sinusitis are prone to tinnitus. This is because of the medications taken which can cause thick mucus lining buildup which may block the Eustachian tubes.
5.Head or brain injury may also cause ringing ears. It may also be due to tumor growths such as glomus, acoustic neuroma and ostosclerosis.
6.Other medical conditions such as strain on the temporomandibular joint or any vascular abnormalities may also cause ringing ears or tinnitus.
7.Tinnitus may also be due to too much consumption of certain foods such as cheese, red wine and chocolate. Alcoholic drinks should be avoided as well and foods rich in salicylates.
Other ringing ears cause may include fibromyalgia, Meniere’s disease, blood pressure and cancer. Fortunately, tinnitus or ringing ears can be easily cured in its initial stage. Sufferers should also avoid too much coffee and products which contain aspirin. Cutting down tobacco and cigarette can also be very helpful in treating tinnitus. For those who are going through ringing ears along with the aging process, it is advisable to use a digital hearing aid for treatment or remedy.

Ringing the Ears: Causes and Effective Treatments
Tinnitus is a subjective disorder and so objective tests such as an audiometric test are incapable of measuring its severity. Ringing the ears is classified into different categories that ranges from slight to cataclysmic and is subjected to practical complexity. Auditory Brainstem Response is often preferred to be able to find the origin of tinnitus and to find out if it is due to vertigo or hear loss.
Ringing the ear or tinnitus may be due to various factors and are often classified as follows:
1. Neurological Disorders – multiple sclerosis and head injuries.
2. Ontological causes and loss of hearing – infection in the external ear, deposition of earwax, prolonged exposure to too much noise, middle ear effusion, hearing loss which is associated to aging and Meniere’s syndrome. There are certain ototoxic medications which may cause tinnitus as well, particularly when taken in high dosage, such as amino glycosides, aspirin, bleomycin, tetracycline, furosemide, cisplatin and some other medications.
3. Psychological problems – depression, stress, anxiety and tension.
4. Metabolic disorders – vitamin B12 deficiency and thyroid disorder.
All these factors may cause tinnitus, if not, may worsen the condition if not given the proper attention which is why it is important to consult a specialist when symptoms of ringing the ears or tinnitus are present.
When it comes to ringing the ears, precautionary measures should be taken as this may be a lifetime problem if not treated or remedied as soon as possible. Since the most common cause of tinnitus is due to too much exposure to very loud noises, it is advisable to stay clear of these noises and of places where loud noises come from. If this situation is unavoidable, make sure to use earplugs to protect your ears from the pressure generated by these noises. Also, if you are taking any medications, make sure to monitor it for any side effects. This is due to the fact that tinnitus can be a side effect of certain ototoxic medications, especially when these medications are taken in high dosage.
When it comes to treating ringing the ears or tinnitus, there are several options available depending on the root or cause of the problem. However, one treatment may not be able to cure different types of tinnitus and so you have to consult your doctor to know which among these treatments may apply to you.
1. Objective tinnitus – when it comes to objective ringing the ears or objective tinnitus, surgery using gamma rays might be required, especially in cases of glomus jugulare tumor. In cases of palatal tremor, Botulinum toxin might be the best treatment. For arterial anatomic variation, Propranolol treatment is often used and has been proven effective.
2. Subjective tinnitus – usually, the intensity of the external sound is being reduced by completely avoiding the noise, masking or by means of music therapy or by using a hearing aid to be able to facilitate the lost frequencies. Electrical treatment may also be used to cure certain cases of ringing the ear or tinnitus. Chemical therapy, on the other hand, is where stress is laid on cutting or eliminating alcohol, nicotine and caffeine consumption. It is supported by zinc supplementation, melatonin, sodium fluoride and herbal therapy as well.

Tinnitus Infection: Causes, Symptoms and Treatments
Tinnitus is a disorder which is basically characterized by a ringing sound inside the ear for no apparent reason at all. This ringing sound may be present in one or both ears and the sufferer may usually hear, aside from ringing, a hissing, roaring, buzzing ear or chirping sound. In order to cure tinnitus or tinnitus infection, it is important to know the cause including the symptoms, before proceeding with the treatment.
A person suffering from tinnitus infection may experience any of the following:
- The sound you are hearing is almost similar to a rushing or clicking sound that usually goes along with your heartbeat.
- Continuous ringing in the ear with no external source.
- The ringing may be accompanied by dizziness.
- Severe headache
The most common causes of tinnitus infection may include:
- Hear loss associated with age or trauma to the ear.
- Ear infection.
- Too much exposure to very loud noises.
- Excessive amount of ear wax (see clogged ringing ears).
- Consumption of ototoxic medications in high dosage such as bleomycin, aspirin, amino glycosides, furosemide, tetracycline and cisplatin.
- Multiple sclerosis, head injuries, sinus infection and neurological disorders.
- Certain medications like quinine, aspirin or medications for cancer may cause tinnitus infection as well.
- Metabolic disorders such as vitamin deficiency or thyroid problems may also cause ringing ears (see tinnitus vitamins).
- Depression, stress and anxiety may also result in having tinnitus.
Various treatments for tinnitus infection are now available, but aside from that, precautionary measures should be taken as well. These medical treatments for tinnitus infection include the following:
- Tinnitus mask (ref above ad) – a kind of hearing aid which produces a sound that is more tolerable than the ringing sound a person often hears. It usually acts as a distraction and cures ringing ear.
- Ear drops – if tinnitus is due to an ear infection, it can be cured using ear drops which contain hydrocortisone. This can help relieve the ringing sound as well as the itching in the ears.
- Ear plugs – this can help prevent acquiring tinnitus and can be helpful to those who are already suffering from the disorder as well. Ear plugs can help reduce excessive and unwanted noise from getting into the ears.
- Medications – antibiotics are very helpful when it comes to treating tinnitus infection but some doctors may prescribe anti-depressant medications especially when psychological disorders are the cause of the condition.
- Application of cognitive behavioral therapy – this is when the doctor examines the sufferer’s behaviors, beliefs, attitudes and thoughts and gives medication if he found something wrong with it.
- Surgery – if the person is suffering from a tinnitus infection which is due to a benign tumor or the patient is suffering from chronic tinnitus, surgery might be required to provide permanent relief from ringing ear.
- Other treatments – aside from the above-mentioned treatments, sufferers may also opt for biofeedback, electrical stimulation, counseling therapies and habituation which are considered as alternative treatments for tinnitus infection (aslo see tinnitus acupuncture, tinnitus homeopathy and herbs for tinnitus).
But before going for any of these treatments, make sure to consult an ear specialist first to know which among these treatments best suit you. It is also essential to determine the cause of the infection first before resorting to any of these treatments.

Just What Causes Ears to Ring?
Understanding the Reasons for Ringing Ears
The question, “What causes ears to ring?” is harder to answer than it may first appear. For one thing, there’s nothing actually ringing in the ear that is causing the person to become annoyed. This sound is something only the sufferer can hear, which comes as a result of damage to the connection between the brain and the ear. There are a number of attributes to what causes ears to ring that we’ll look at in this article.
Damage from Sound
Exposure to loud noises, either from music or the environment, is perhaps the most common cause of ringing ears. If you’re in a situation in which you’re constantly exposed to noises that are above safe levels, you are putting yourself at risk of having permanent ear ringing, which is known as tinnitus.
Tinnitus often occurs among those who frequently attend music venues, who work in nightclubs or at concerts, or are themselves part of a band. Those who are in these groups should use adequate hearing protection devices in order to keep the connection between their brain and ears healthy. Consider that the volume of the average rock band playing music is louder than the sound of a jet engine taking off, and this should give you some idea of the kind of risk you are putting yourself in. This disregard for the health of ones ears is a major part of what causes ears to ring.
Health Reasons
As tinnitus does not wholly occur as a result of ear damage, ear ringing can become apparent purely due to health problems. When blood flow to the brain is significantly reduced, ringing of the ears will occur. This is one reason why person’s ears will ring if they’ve received a blow to the head.
If you’ve begun to have tinnitus because of this, consider improving your diet and exercise regime. Smoking, for example, should be immediately reduced. As the effect of nicotine on the brain, the actual addictive element of smoking, is what causes ears to ring in a number of cases.
Less Serious Causes
What else causes ears to ring? If you’ve just begun to have sudden ear ringing problems, it may not be a permanent issue. In a small percentage of cases, ear ringing is caused by a problem with the jaw, in which the sides of the jaw come against the ears and cause the ringing to occur.
It may also be to do with too much earwax in the ears. This is a problem that can be easily fixed by your doctor, either with a high amount of pressure removing the wax, or a form of ear drops that will expel the wax over a period of time. You should check with your doctor to see what causes ears to ring in your particular case.
Hopefully this short article has helped you understand what causes ears to ring. As always, if you’re unsure of what is happening to your ears, it’s best to check with your doctor to see what steps can be taken. If this is done early, you’ll save yourself further hearing problems in the future.

Is it Possible to Have Tinnitus Cured?
Attacking the Tinnitus Problem
Tinnitus comes about as a result of damage to the connection between the ear and brain. Unfortunately, getting your tinnitus cured in a simple manner such as with medication or an operation is usually impossible. Since doctors are not fully aware of the exact nature of tinnitus and what causes this ringing, an easy cure is not yet available.
It takes a significant amount of effort on the part of the sufferer to make sure their tinnitus is cured. Since tinnitus is dependent on the way the brain works, sufferers must direct their own consciousness in such a way that the symptoms of tinnitus can be ignored, reduced or removed totally. The fact is that removing tinnitus completely may in fact be impossible.
Getting Your Mind Away
The most common, and successful, method of treatment to get tinnitus cured is to learn how to accept and ignore it. This sounds like a contradictory piece of advice, and it’s hard to imagine any other problem in which a doctor would advise you ignore it and hope it goes away! But the fact is that the symptoms of tinnitus are reduced if the sufferer is able to simply cope with the problem as it is, and move on with their life regardless.
There’s a useful analogy that can be used here. Consider the fact that right now, your clothes are touching your body. If you focus on this, you can feel it. If you were to pay attention to this all of the time, however, this sensation would become increasingly annoying, and soon enough it would be difficult to handle. Naturally, we simply allow ourselves to ignore this sensation. We aren’t even aware that we’re ignoring it, the thought just doesn’t cross our minds. If you want your tinnitus cured, you’ll have to adopt a similar mindset to this.
Additional Help
Ringing in the ears can occur for a number of reasons, so it’s worth checking with your doctor to see if there’s some other way to have tinnitus cured. One common cause for temporary ringing in the ears is an overabundance of ear wax, which can be removed either a water irrigation technique, by the doctor and immediately solving the problem, or with ear drops, which can be used for a number of weeks until all ear wax is removed.
If this is not the cause, there are a few other routes you can try. First off, you should start making positive steps in your life to combat ear ringing. Since the level of tinnitus is affected by blood flow to the brain, reducing the amount of nicotine, alcohol, salt and caffeine that you consume will have a significant impact in how noticeable your tinnitus is. Getting more exercise, in which you increase the rate at which your heat pumps blood through the body will also have a positive effect on whether or not your tinnitus is cured.
By improving the quality of your life and learning to ignore is, having tinnitus cured, or at least learning to live with the problem, can be something well within your reach.
